Converge president John K. Jenkins Sr. has made it his signature priority to invest in helping churches across our movement develop a culture of evangelism and discipleship. To move this initiative forward, Converge has partnered with the Wheaton College Billy Graham Center’s Church Evangelism Institute, which has a proven record of success in helping approximately 600 churches grow in conversion and evangelism. Enjoy this testimony from a Converge pastor who has participated in a Church Evangelism Institute cohort and is seeing his church’s culture shift into one with a much greater emphasis on evangelism and discipleship and equipping everyone in the congregation to share God’s love effectively.
God has blessed the ministry of Grace Fellowship Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where I pastor.
Every Sunday, we witness important gospel conversations, and people are giving their lives to Jesus. From the outside perspective, many perceive our church as successful. So, why should we participate in an evangelistic cohort?
Because the Wheaton College Billy Graham Center’s Church Evangelism Institute has helped us implement Biblical principles that are transferable to all aspects of our church. I am convinced these principles will impact you and your church as well.
Wheaton College Billy Graham Center’s Church Evangelism Institute has already helped energize our staff. Moving forward, our whole church will care and take on an evangelistic mindset.
I don’t want Grace Fellowship only to be perceived as successful on Sundays. God wants us to “be the church” and live our lives evangelistically, reaching people for Jesus every day of the week.
As the lead shepherd of a large suburban church, I know we have a long way to go. But this cohort is helping us take the proper steps over two years toward changing our culture to impact our community.
Thank you, President Jenkins!
